Allow passion to become your purpose


What is your passion in life? Do you have a cause that is dear to you or that has an impact on your life?

Terri Hancharick has followed her passion to find a solution to her daughters desire to be a part of community. Check out the short youtube video and audio below to see Terri's tenacity for pushing forward with her passion.

The January Smallsteps online support group meeting for parents/caregivers of special needs children and adults was held Tuesday night January 2nd. The group had the pleasure of a guest speaker from Delaware. Terri Hancharick is a  mother of six children, and an advocate for  intellectually and physically challenged. She is the board president of EPIC.  A mother of five boys and a daughter Brigitte who has a diagnosis of cerebral palsy.





 EPIC is a community-based program “Without Walls” that provides clients with meaningful self-determined, inclusive health and wellness opportunities that initiated programming in January of 2015. EPIC offers services in community venues of choices such as vocational, volunteer, health and wellness, recreation, leisure and higher educations pursuits. All of these services provide productive lifestyles and development of life-long friendships.

Terri is active in many causes that advocate for the special needs community
  • Board President- EPIC ( Endless Possibilities in the Community)
  • Research Associate- Center for Disabilities Studies, University of Delaware
  • Chair of Adult Issues Committee- Delaware Developmental Disabilities Council
  • Chair- Governor’s Advisory Council for DDDS
  • Vice Chair- Governor’s Advisory Council for Exceptional Citizens
  • Volunteer Work- State Council for Persons with Disabilities
  • Lending her knowledge advocating for fitness modification at the local
  • YMCA (short video below)






Check out the unbelievable strives made by the YMCA in Delaware with adaptive fitness.  With Terri's help the YMCA has found solutions to include people with limited mobility. An awesome short video !!!
