About Me

Jill Ryan grew up in a small Midwestern town in Illinois alongside her two brothers and her twin sister, Valerie. She raised her daughter, Meghann—who had special needs—while owning and operating her own salon. When Meghann was in her final year of high school, Jill married Dan, a contractor and life coach. After spending 25 years working in the salon industry, Jill returned to school and earned her bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University. She has since dedicated time to hosting an online support group for parents of children and adults with differing needs. Jill's deepest passion lies in advocating for the differently abled community and raising awareness through her writing. On May 24, 2018, Jill, Dan, and their family said goodbye to Meghann. Her passing has only strengthened Jill’s commitment to telling the stories of those who pursue their dreams despite life’s challenges and limitations.
