About Me

celebratingthesmallsteps
Jill Ryan grew up in a small midwest town in Illinois with her two brothers and twin sister Valerie. She raised her special needs daughter, Meghann while owning and operating her own salon. When Meghann was in her last year in High School Jill married Dan. Dan is a lifelong educator and life coach. Jill has two step-children and one grandchild. After working in a salon for 25 years Jill went back to school and earned her Associate degree. She attended classes at Penn state until she decided to pursue writing. Jill has spent time hosting an online support group for parents who have special needs children and adults. Her passion lies within the special needs community and raising awareness through writing. Jill, Dan, and their family said goodbye to Meghann on May 24, 2018. This loss has inspired Jill more than ever to write about people who find a way to make their dreams come true regardless of differing abilities.
